We hope everyone is doing well. We enjoyed meeting with the NISS PAC this last week through Zoom.

With the recent announcement from the Ministry of Education last week that schools will begin a gradual reopening on June 1, we have been reviewing guidelines from the Provincial Health Officer, the Ministry of Education, and WorkSafeBC and creating plans for a safe return for students who are planning on returning. So far we have heard from about 50% of NISS families. If you have not let us know if your children will be returning or not, please let us know by mid-next week. By the end of next week, we will be in contact with families who have children planning to return to set up dates and arrival times. We will need to know in advance who will be arriving each day and will need to stagger the arrival times at the front door. The foot ferry will be running Monday to Thursday with a limit of 12 passengers at a time with social distancing measures in place. We will coordinate with Danni Tribe, the Captain, about who will be riding on the ferry each day.

We have included a document here that outlines pertinent information for the return to schools.  We will continue to send updates as information comes in. If you have any questions or concerns, please email the Principal (sjohnson@sd85.bc.ca) or Vice Principal (erobertson@sd85.bc.ca)
