Please see below for information for the NISS 2020 walking ceremony.

  • Grads arrive at the Drama entry
  • There will be a health check station manned by a staff member in that location
    • A staff member will review health protocol with students as they check in
    • Students can stay socially distanced in the drama room or outside until the program begins if they need a place
    • Individual water and snacks will be available (no food sharing)
  • At 1:15, students will line up socially distanced in alphabetical order to enter the gym
    • Each student will stop at the arch to get a photo taken, then go to their seat which will be labelled
  • The ceremony will commence at 1:30
    • Ms. Robertson will open the ceremony with a welcome introduction and housekeeping items
    • Students can start to queue up at the “X” under the basketball hoop (staff will prompt them)
    • Ms. Robertson will introduce each graduate as they walk over the bridge (she will read their information when they are on the centre of the bridge), walk the path and return to their seat

      • Scholarship presentation (grad will stand as their name is called to acknowledge awards)
      • Ceremony end
  • Students will walk socially distanced to the front of the office where they can get a cap and gown if they choose for an outdoor group photo where the grad class of 2020 will be announced and caps thrown up in the air by the totem pole socially distanced
  • Students can then gather socially distanced by the stairs for individual photos by Lifetouch
  • The event will be live streamed, videoed and recorded and a link will be sent out to parents to share out prior to the event
